Here is a guide to cake sizes, portions and prices. Please note this is only a guide and depends on how big you want your cake slices (or who is cutting it!)

At the heart of every celebration, there’s usually a cake to be cut and shared. A Boho showstopper not only tastes incredible, but it also has the wow factor too!

How many guests are having cake?

Each cake is priced individually according to your choice of flavours, fruits, flowers and frosting. Here’s an approximate party cake price guide based on the number of guests at your celebration.

Each wedding cake is priced individually according to flavour, decoration and style.

Portion Sizes

Tiers, layers and slices

Each tier of your wedding cake consists of 3 layers of sponge which are filled with buttercream and curd or compote - so this makes them pretty tall! Wedding slices are different from the classic ‘triangular’ birthday cake portion, they’re rectangular in shape, and as a general guide, they come in two sizes:

Finger Portion” - approximately 1” x 1” x 5” - a smaller portion of cake if you just want your guests to have a piece of cake but it is not the main dessert.

Dessert Portion” - approximately 1”x 2” x 5” — a larger slice of cake for your guest to enjoy as perhaps a dessert option or if you want a more generous portion each.

Other elements you need to ‘factor-in’ when planning your cake.

  • Would you prefer individual, mini-wedding cakes? Let me know if it’s an option you want to consider as they can actually take longer to make than the bigger versions.

  • What kind of edible floral decorations do you prefer? I can offer different edible floral packages from a more minimal decoration to a full-on floral masterpiece. Organic, edible flowers have to be ordered from specialist South West flower farms. Flowers ordered from florists are not suitable to go on cakes as they are not food grade and many fresh flowers are not only toxic but they’re sprayed with insecticides and chemicals.

  • Don’t forget to ‘factor-in delivery and set-up costs to your wedding venue as tiered cakes need to be delivered and set up in situ.

  • Don’t forget the cost of your tree log cake stand which can be redeemed if you can return it.
